Banff Conference on Internet Gambling [Complete]

Thursday, March 26 (Opening Reception from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm), Friday, March 27 & Saturday, March 28, 2009 @ The Banff Centre, Banff, Alberta, Canada.

The Alberta Gaming Research Institute and the University of Lethbridge co-sponsored the eighth in a series of special interest conferences in the area of gambling studies. This conference discussed the latest research on the prevalence and patterns of online gambling around the world; regulatory approaches used in different countries; the experience of jurisdictions currently providing online gambling; concerns with and potential remedies to the issues/problems associated with online gambling; pros and cons of different policy options; online treatment for problem gambling; and poker bots.

The conference took place at the Banff Centre - a relaxing and intimate setting in the majestic Canadian Rockies. It brought an international focus to bear on the topic and was of interest to educators, policy makers, regulators, and researchers.

This program was approved by the Canadian Problem Gambling Certification Board
