Walker (41) 41. THE EFFECT OF ETHNICITY AND GENDER ON PLAYING THE LOTTERY
This research project builds upon and extends a previous Institute-funded study that used the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) to explain British/Canadian and Chinese/Canadian male and females’ lottery ticket play. Although the TFB will be used once again, and ethnicity, gender, and their interaction will be the foci once more, additional research objectives will be addressed.
Status (Complete) As of mid-November 2005, data collection was complete. It is anticipated that data analysis will occur in early 2006 with a manuscript being submitted for peer review in late spring, 2006. A Chinese doctoral student in the Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation was involved in the creation and translation of the questionnaire. A second graduate student was also involved.
